Guartelá is the main Canyon of Paraná and one of the largest in Brazil, covering approximately 32 Km in length. Its main characteristics are the combination of very inclined edges, either rocky or covered with fields, alternating with areas of well preserved native vegetation. The Guartelá Canyon is formed by rocks belonging to Furnas Arenite formed in the Devonian Period, approximately 400 million years ago.
Itáytyba Ecotourism is located on the right bank of the Guartelá Canyon in its deepest part, with 262 meters deep, allowing a privileged front view of the Ponte de Pedra Waterfall of the Guartelá State Park. In order to complete the day at ITÁYTYBA ECOTOURISM, a visit to the outlooks of both Itáytyba and Guartelá Canyons reminds us the ways and wisdom of mother nature, which certainly help us to better understand the thin equilibrium that keeps all driving forces of nature in perfect balance.
